use this community space to link up projects utilizing multiple media (or technologies). of particular interest are unique navigation / interaction structures, integration of linear and non-linear elements, community-based / participatory projects, and the like.
we will try to look at these on a regular basis so everyone is nicely up-to-date with the contemporary multimedia landscape.

ReplyDeleteI know I posted this last semester in another class, but I really love The Eco Zoo(By McCann Erickson) for its navigation system, graphics and fun interactive nature.
ReplyDeleteI found this video that is pretty interesting. With smart and well planned organization, people can do some mind boggling things in public places that can stir up a lot of unexpected emotions.

ReplyDeleteI found this awesome website called wonderwall that uses a horizontal scroll bar to reveal different stories or popular pictures, etc. (I really like the horizontal scroll!) It also has other web 2.0 tools such as "most popular" and other things that are based on user input.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure a few people are familiar with Geocaching. This is an interesting website/iphone app/gps experience where users leave an object somewhere, record instructions and the gps location on the website and other users will try to find where they've hidden this treasure. It gets at the virtual/physical integration we've been addressing.

ReplyDeleteDid you know 4.0 is a great video that talks some statistics of technology and the people that use it. The relation to our class would be to see how we need to target and design for our future audiences.

Interface free indeed. Check out this 2007 demo video for the Microsoft Surface. It's a touch-driven computer that further explores the ideas in Jeff Han's presentation.

Oxide is a small design firm in Omaha!! their work rocks and has a simple way to navigate through it.
